Bustrip to the opening at the Ursula Blickle Foundation
We are happy to invite you to join us on a small trip to Kraichtal. The first part of the exhib! ition Pensée Sauvage opens on Saturday 19 May, 7 pm at the Ursula Blickle Foundation in Kraichtal-Unteröwisheim, near Bruchsal. Frankfurter Kunstverein has organized a 50-seat bus. Departure is at 4:30pm from the coach stop at Paulskirche with another pick up at around 5:15pm at the central station in Darmstadt. To reserve a seat please email with name, telephone number and boarding location (Frankfurt or Darmstadt) to assistenz@fkv.de before May 18. Departure to Frankfurt is scheduled for ca. 00.00h
The title of this international group exhibition has been borrowed from the French anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss’ seminal book La pensée sauvage (1962). Pensée sauvage means not only “wild thinking,” but also “wild pansy,” a very common wild flower of the family of the violet. One of the most intriguing questions of our time is if it is possible to be a “wild flower;” na! mely, how one can deconstruct fear as well as being an authori! ty and s tart taking initiative. The works presented in the exhibition suggest that there is always another chance to reverse the history of the world: to take the liberty to think and act otherwise. This is freedom.
Pensée Sauvage is a production of the Ursula Blickle Foundation in co-operation with the Frankfurter Kunstverein and will be shown at both venues simultaneously.
